Guard Your Turf
Greetings Race Fans,
On Wednesday, July 13th, the experiment with Summer Classic continues at Delaware Park. SC moves off the dirt track, for the first time, to challenge a full field of 12 in a Maiden Claiming going 7 1/2 Furlongs on turf. Classic leaves from the #5 post with apprentice jockey Katie Davis in the irons.
Post time is 2:15 pm (CST) and he was charted at (15/1) morning line odds. The purse is $13,500 and the claiming tag is $7,500. Connections hope SC is able to find his comfort zone and compete in many more “turf wars!”
