Greetings Race Fans,
Our red hot filly, Cocoa Bandita, moves up in class to join eight fillies and mares in an Illinois Allowance on Wednesday, October 12, at Hawthorne Racecourse in Chicago. Cocoa has recorded two wins and a third in her last four starts, all in claiming company.
Our white-faced filly enjoys the underdog role and has recent wins at (25/1) and (15/1) odds in Indiana. CB faces her stiffest competition yet, and fortunately doesn’t read the Daily Racing Form, where she is again tabbed the (15/1) longest shot in the field.
Cocoa will leave from the #3 post with experienced jockey Edgar Perez on board. #4 Showersofblessings is the (9/5) morning line favorite followed by #1 Dundalk at (9/2) odds.
Race #7 begins at 5:20 pm, going Six Furlongs on dirt, for a $20,700 purse. It will be interesting to see how CB handles the long stretch, seasoned rivals and deep Hawthorne track. One thing for certain…there will be several hot fillies and one hot Cocoa in the Windy City this week.
Wager well!
Mike
