Greetings Race Fans,
March Sadness:
In his last start at a mile, on Feb. 13 at Laurel Park in Maryland, Bissinger sprung a (21/1) upset victory. Yesterday, at Parx Racing in Philly, it was unfortunately a different story. Much like the NCAA basketball tournament the #1 seed prevailed while Bissinger managed a mild upset finishing in the Final Four. We know that Bissinger needs to be outside of horses to be effective and this trip did not suit his running style. After breaking from the #2 post, a sea of horse flesh descended down on Biss and he was trapped on the rail. Our gelding was in contention most of the way while point guard Lane Luzzi searched for a way to swing him wide. After 3/4 of a mile Lane had Biss 1 1/2 lengths off the pace when he spied a brief opening. #4 Infinite Fiesta quickly took that opportunity and squeezed Bissinger out, leaving him to fight in traffic. After the field turned for home #6 D T Goodie and #5 Key Cheyne locked in a long hard drive to the wire with D T Goodie, the favorite, winning in a photo. Biss and Lane finished a well beaten 4th behind Infinite Fiesta. With a good trip our dark chocolate challenger may have closed the gap to third in this tough field. We look to a more favorable placing in his next outing where Bissinger can again be a “bracket buster“!
Wager Well!
