Greetings Race Fans,
Traffic Jam:
Mary Jeans Wildcat will travel to historic Churchill Downs on Saturday, October 1 for a bumper to bumper challenge in race #2 beginning at 1:14 pm (EST).
MJW will face more horses than we have on our entire farm. Our swift chestnut will leave from post #10 in the overcrowded 15 horse field, with veteran Brazilian jockey Leandro Goncalves in the irons.
Mary Jean has been training with a tongue tie and we hope this will alleviate the soft palate displacement she encountered in her last start in Chicago.
This Maiden Claiming, Six Furlong race, carries a $30K claiming tag and a $20K purse.
Friends may join us in Louisville for front row seats and behind the scenes access.
Good luck MJ don’t play in traffic!
Summer School’s Out:
Summer Classic, the Summer Bird gelding we sold to Michelle Helms, recently graduated from summer school with his first victory. SC moved from Delaware Park in August to Mountaineer Park where he earned three third place finishes before breaking his maiden there on September 20.
Summer Classic was nursed back to health by Lexington vet Dr. Barbara Poole, then sold to Saddleback Stables where trainer Tim Ice conditioned Summer Classic back to race fitness.
Way to go SC, we hope you have many more wins at your new home in West Virginia!
Wager well!
Mike
